Louise Chazin (1903- ), community activist for the aged (age 55 and over) and founder of many New York City community based organizations, was born in Austria-Hungary. In 1921, Chazin emigrated to the United States. At the age of 70, Chazin who had long since retired from a career as a novelty designer, came out of retirement and launched a second career as a civil rights activist for the elderly.
